The past year has brought about significant changes in the philanthropic landscape, with a shift in donor priorities requiring Baylor Foundation Eswatini to demonstrate strategic agility and a persistent and creative approach to securing sustainable funding—a challenge that remains our central focus. Despite this, we continue to maintain visibility and align our actions with our organizational mission to provide high-quality and family-centered medical care to improve health outcomes for children, adolescents, and their families with the unceasing support of the Ministry of Health

In 2024, our diverse programming portfolio included services for young people living with HIV, tuberculosis care, audiology, psychosocial support, social services, and cancer screening and treatment referral coordination, among others. Across 12 active programs, our dedicated team of over 116 employees diligently engaged on-site to ensure the provision of health services to those in need—serving over 7,089 children and adolescents. Moreover, in line with the global mission to reach the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets, the Foundation, under the strong leadership of the Ministry of Health as primary funder, continues to make significant contributions.

Our commitment to delivering holistic and comprehensive care has enabled us to expand access to health services for all youth in need, and we are resolved to preserve this broader reach in the coming years. Beyond care services, the Foundation has made a pointed effort to engage in research efforts surrounding cervical cancer care, HIV prevention, tuberculosis diagnostics, and wastewater-based epidemiology to help shape evidence-based solutions that strengthen the public health sector in Eswatini and surrounding nations.

In the coming year, in addition to building upon the aforementioned work, we intend to extend our efforts to answer the global call to action for mental healthcare, the development of national systems for childhood cancer care, and programs for cervical cancer prevention and education.
